YELLOW is a 12-minute documentary short by Janelle Vaughn Dowell, born from her first encounter with St. George’s Castle (São Jorge da Mina Castle). Elmina Castle is a place where history is not only remembered but felt in the body. Overwhelmed by the cruelty embedded in its walls, Dowell returns to honor her ancestors and take back power through intention, reverence, and art.
